I got my first non-iPhone camera in 2019, and it’s made me want to be a better observer. I’m still not “good,” and serious people might call my style derivative (so far), but I still like how carrying around a real camera changes your eyes. You squint more. But also it makes you aware of how simple variations in light can tell these subtle stories. Without context, why do some images compel you while others don’t?

I should mention that most of these were taken with an iPhone, so disregard all that pretentious shit about holding a real camera.
